The Association of Scorers in Professional Cricket (ASPC (formerly the ACCS)) was established in 1993 to improve the standards of cricket scoring within the professional game, to co-operate and cultivate good relations with all bodies associated with cricket, for the betterment of the game and to promote the social affairs of the membership. The ASPC is open to everyone, regardless of where they live in the world.

The ASPC is a members’ organisation and the only requirement for membership is being a ‘nominated’ 1st or 2nd XI county scorer or a scorer within the professional game having met the following requirements (to be a voting member) i.e. subject to having scored a minimum of ten days professional, competitive cricket (excluding washouts (One-Day matches)) in the season immediately preceding their application for membership or fourteen days in the preceding two seasons (excluding washouts (One-Day matches)). Matches which shall constitute being of an appropriate standard for consideration in this regard shall have at least one umpire from the ECB Professional Umpires Team or ECB National Panel appointed to officiate. If this condition cannot be met, application for membership can still be approved on the clear understanding that there will be no entitlement to Voting Rights until such time that this condition can be met. In all cases, except for honorary Members, a willingness and ability to pay the annual subscription.
2. The Association will try to maintain the annual subscription at an affordable level and encourage as large and as broadly based a membership as possible, the ASPC will continue to seek efficiencies in all aspects of its activities.
3. The ASPC aims to appeal to people who score and are involved in professional cricket at county level, women’s regional cricket and franchise cricket.

6. Final decisions on all matters covered by this policy statement will be made by the ASPC’s Committee.
