RULES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY CRICKET SCORERS

1.   NAME

The name of the Association is “The Association of County Cricket Scorers”, hereinafter within these rules referred to as the ACCS.

2.   OBJECTS

a)    To improve the standards of cricket scoring;
b)    To co-operate and cultivate good relations with all bodies associated with cricket, for the betterment of the game;
c)    To promote the social affairs of the membership.

3.   MEMBERSHIP

a)    All persons who are official scorers of the eighteen First-class Counties and Second Eleven scorers of those same teams, shall be eligible for Full membership.
b)    Any persons who are official scorers of other teams playing First-class and Minor County cricket, including Scotland, Ireland, the University Centres of Cricketing Excellence and the Marylebone Cricket Club, and other interested parties (for example statisticians, computer operators) shall be eligible for Associate membership.
c)    Any long-serving scorer who has given outstanding service to the game, may on retirement be offered Honorary Life membership of the ACCS. Any such recommendation by the committee will have to be approved at the Annual General Meeting.

4.   SUBSCRIPTIONS

The annual subscriptions shall be determined by the committee and be approved at the Annual General Meeting, on which date they will become due.

5.   OFFICERS

The officers of the ACCS shall consist of a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, who will be elected by the ACCS at the Annual General Meeting, to be held in October each year, and the officers so appointed shall hold office until the following Annual General Meeting, but shall be eligible for re-election. Other nominations for officers should be forwarded to the Secretary with a seconder at least fourteen days before the date set for the Annual General Meeting. Nominations and seconders can only be accepted from Full or Honorary Life members.

6.   COMMITTEE

The committee shall consist of the Officers, plus three members, elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. Rules regarding re-election or nominations shall be as Rule 5 – Officers.

7.   MANAGEMENT

The management of the ACCS shall be entrusted to the Officers and Committee, who shall have the powers to fill any casual vacancy among the Committee. Any person so co-opted shall remain until the next Annual General Meeting when he shall be eligible for re-election.

8.   MEETING

a)    The Annual General Meeting of the ACCS shall be held in October each year, but upon requisition by any TEN full or honorary life members the Committee shall convene an Extraordinary General Meeting within 21 days from the date of the requisition.
b)    The Annual General Meeting will receive from the Secretary/Treasurer an annual report and a statement of account.
c)    The Annual General Meeting will elect the officers and committee for the ensuing year.

All resolutions for consideration by the Annual General Meeting will be forwarded to the Secretary at least 14 days before the date of the meeting by FULL or HONORARY LIFE members only, accompanied by a seconder with the same qualifications.
Rules of the ACCS may be amended by the approval of two-thirds of the FULL and HONORARY LIFE members present and voting at the Annual General Meeting.

Proposals other than rule changes shall be decided by a straight majority of the FULL and HONORARY LIFE members present. The Chairman may, at his discretion, exercise a casting vote.
